Often when people hear the term "Yoga Therapy" they think of cures for physical ailments. And they put Yoga Therapy in the same box as physiotherapy or other movement based therapeutic approaches. But Yoga therapy in the tradition of T. Krishnamacharya and T.K.V. Desikachar is much more than that. It is one of the biggest legacies of T. Krishnamacharya and nothing else than a huge part of Yoga, as we all need to deal with our many "dis-eases" if we want to progress on our path of Yoga. These dis-eases can occur in the emotional, physical, psychological or spiritual dimension. So someone might come to Yoga Therapy because he wants to work on his fears or insecurities. Someone else might come to get rid of Insomnia and someone else might need something that helps him balance his stressful work life.
In order to address people's needs in different areas, Yoga Therapists in the tradition of T. Krishnamacharya and T.K.V. Desikachar undergo an in-depth training program that spreads over three years and turns people into versatile healers and teachers. It includes a project, a practicum, observation, basic knowledge in Ayurveda and Psychology and much more.
The next of these Indepth Yoga Therapy Training Programs will be offered in Europe commencing in 2016. It will be conducted in English and translated into French.
